Kayln Miaya Webster (she/her/hers) is a creative writer and community advocate from Birmingham, Alabama. Her background is in International Relations Policy with a B.A. from Spelman College. She continued her interest in community advocacy with URGE: Gender & Reproductive Justice organization as a community organizer and a social media strategist for the Restore the Vote Campaign initiative against voter suppression in disenfranchised communities. Miaya currently serves with the City of Birmingham Mayor’s Office Division of Youth Services where she focuses on curating youth-centered initiatives for opportunity youth in Birmingham. Miaya is passionate about young voices and continues to use her own to create spaces for former and current opportunity youth with similar experiences to her own.
